Wigan Tri is please to team up with a local community programme called ‘Gearing Up’. If your new to biking, planning on racing and don’t want to throw it away on a race day malfunction or just need to keep your mighty steed running like new give this a look in.

What’s on offer?


  • Learn how to service or tune the bike
  • We can supply low cost new parts for you to fit (let us know in advance so that we can order anything special)
  • Full set of specialist workshop tools with work-stands and benches for DIY
  • Trained mechanics on hand to provide support and advice
  • On site cafe; relaxed place to meet up, talk about bikes, plan rides
  • Perfect time to sort out your bike niggles and learn some new tips


Ideal for:

Wheels & Hub adjustments – wheel truing, adjusting cones
Drive Chains: worn chains, front chainrings, rear cassette, bottom bracket, front & rear derailleurs.
Gears & Brakes: Learn how to adjust & replace brake cables and brake blocks, how to replace warn disc brake pads, how to set up derailleurs and index your gears.
Headsets: headset servicing, replacement of bearings and re-fitting a pair of forks
